Nicknamed “Little England”, Nuwara Eliya is a hill station surrounded by hills and tea plantations. It was a favourite retreat for the British civil servants during the British colonial times.
The town is dotted with half-timbered bungalows and old English country style houses, many private bungalows owners still maintain the English-style lawns and gardens. This is one place of nostalgic memories for the retired. Through out the year the climate is spring like.
This is what one of visitors had to say “The Tea country is a must, stunning scenery. The pickers and other people associated with the Tea industry are beautiful, and friendly. We road through on motorbikes, an experience I will never forget.” . The most memorable approach to Nuwara Eliya is by train, road travel has its own share of panoramas.
